Wasi

Wasi is a brilliant saxophonist based in the Queen City. Infusing Jazz, Afrobeat, and Gospel, he strives to spread joy, hope, and peace to all who hear his music. With a unique ability to adapt to various playing styles, Wasi’s music exemplifies serenity and happiness.

As a kid, when Wasi first heard the sound of the saxophone being played at his church, it captivated him & inspired him to become a saxophonist himself. He began playing the saxophone at age 10. Being of Nigerian descent & living in the Washington D.C. area, he was influenced by various styles and genres of music. Wasi is a proud alumnus of Howard University where he studied Computer Information Systems and was apart of the Howard University “Showtime” Marching Band.

Wasi currently has many singles available for listening on all major streaming platforms, including Spotify, Apple Music, and YouTube Music.

Case is a saxophone cover of the hit Afropop song by Teni the Entertainer, and Odoo is a cover of the popular Afrobeat track by Masterkraft and Wizkid.

In addition to these two incredible covers, Wasi has many more songs that can be listened to in the form of videos on both YouTube and Instagram. He performs at numerous weddings and events year-round and has shared many of the most popular requests on his Instagram page.

Wasi prides himself on his music being able to touch your soul - allowing you to feel refreshed and renewed through the Spirit that exudes from his instrument. The sounds that he plays are those that his listeners - varying in age, language, & ethnicity can all love & enjoy.
